Six Week Mindfulness Based Self Compassion Course

The Gift of Mindfulness is running a six week Mindfulness Based Self-Compassion course created and facilitated by Counselling Psychologists Dr Richard Meacham and Dr Emer Sheahan. The course is focused on learning to cultivate a more compassionate relationship with yourself built on a foundation of mindfulness.

What you will learn: Over the 6 weeks you will learn a variety of mindfulness practices and compassion techniques to help calm your mind and live more in the present moment. This course is specifically designed for you to cultivate the important skill of self-compassion. Compassion is something that can be increased through training. The best person for you to train on is yourself, as you cannot truly give to others what you do not have yourself. We will explore together practices which allow you to respond to challenging times in your life with soothing compassion and understanding rather than with self criticism. Self-compassion helps you to generate emotional intelligence and resilience and help you build a better relationship with yourself.By developing a more compassionate relationship with yourself, it can help you connect in a more positive way in your relationship to others. Also, rather than pushing yourself forcefully and critically, by generating a kinder relationship towards yourself, you can fulfill your potential in a more compassionate way.

Who is this course for: No past mindfulness or compassion training experience is required for this course, so absolute beginners are more than welcome to the group. If you are returning for a refresher training, then this is also the place for you.

Course Details: Our next 6 week course will take place in April (details to Follow) on Wednesday evenings 7.30pm to 9.15pm in Taney Parish Centre, Drundum, Dublin 14 (located just 3 minutes from the Dundrum Luas stop). Future Courses will also be run in June, September and November 2017
